Why use natural gas for power generation equipment?
At Eco Power Equipment, we manufacture various natural gas power generation equipment designed for prime power and continuous run applications.
Natural Gas provides an ideal fossil fuel choice for power generations.
There are significant environmental benefits - public eco-consciousness & health concerns about diesel fuel provide an opportunity for the industry to step forward and utilize natural gas over diesel fuel.
Most natural gas generators are capable of dual-fuel operation with propane, and both fuel sources are ideal transition fossil fuels that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
When we look closer at natural gas, we see the following information:
The amount of CO2 produced when fuel has burned is a function of the carbon content of the fuel. The heat content, or the amount of energy produced when a fuel is burned, is mainly determined by the carbon (C) and hydrogen (H) content of the fuel. Heat is produced when C and H combine with oxygen (O) during combustion. Natural gas is primarily methane (CH4), which has a higher energy content than other fuels, and thus, it has a relatively lower CO2-to-energy content. In some fuels, water and various elements, such as sulphur and noncombustible elements, reduce their heating values and increase their CO2-to-heat contents.
Natural Gas Advantages:
Propane Gas Advantages:
Breathe easier. Propane produces less harmful greenhouse gas emissions than gasoline and diesel engines. Propane shrinks your environmental footprint with 70 percent fewer smog-producing hydrocarbons, 50 percent less carbon monoxide.
